Jennifer and Fabio met in a class in college sometime during the fall of 2006/early spring 2007. While this doesn’t sound as romantic as other relationships and how they began, Jennifer says it just wasn’t their time. How they reconnected is Jen’s favorite story of all time. She is a huge Grateful Dead fan and Phil Lesh (the original bassist) announced in March 2014 a show in Central Park in May 2014. “I connected with mutual friends and they brought Fabio into the conversation about us all buying tickets and seeing him. The minute we got to planning logistics with all four of us in a Facebook Message, it ended up just Fabio and I talking only. He ended up direct messaging me since we were the only two talking, and we have not stopped talking since. He asked me out a few times before I realized that he was asking me out and not just saying ‘Let’s grab a drinks and catch up since we’re going to the same concert.” So, shout out to the bassist of the Grateful Dead for bringing us together. “

Jennifer says “I love so much about him. He listens, he laughs, he learns, and he teaches me. I can’t pinpoint the exact moment I fell in love with Fabio (however, at some point during our first date, I knew I was falling in love), but there are so many things that made it easy to fall in love with him. I love how much he cares for his family and how important they are to him. Seeing how attentive and caring he is towards them, and then seeing him interact with his friends from home taught me a lot about who Fabio is within the first two weeks of dating. I love how much effort and love he puts into his cooking -- and how every meal he makes is pretty much the best meal I’ve ever had. He cares deeply and passionately, and works to make everything perfect and make those around him happy. He loves to entertain. He’ll tell you he hates being the center of attention -- but somehow he always ends up at the center of it all! I love that he has taught me to love and care more for someone than I ever thought possible. He makes me laugh harder and has taught me to be myself, love myself, and do things for myself when I doubt myself or am stretching myself too thin. His ability to teach me to trust in myself, in him, and what’s right is another rare quality I found in him.”

Fabio says: “Jen sees the glass as half-full, even if it’s a glass of milk which she’s allergic to. She sees the good in all situations and tries to smile, or dance, or make silly jokes, regardless of circumstance, which is what I love most about her. What made me fall in love with her is being able to be myself when I’m with her or when I’m with her around friends or family. I don’t have to hold back my personality or sense of humor and she embraces it and goes along with it.”

Now to talk about their wedding day! Jennifer & Fabio got ready in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and held their first look at an amazing Airbnb that had a great yard for photo opportunities. Their first look was so sweet, filled with big smiles, booms of happy laughter & tender touches. They involved their bridal party & family in portraits at the Airbnb as well and then we made our way to the venue for the ceremony and reception. They chose Lawn Haven at Stroudsmoor Country Inn. The perfect venue to showcase the changing colors of fall the woodsy love of nature that they share. Their ceremony was intimate and personal, their vows were so closely matched it was like they knew what the other wrote, and I totally cried at the divine beautiful connection they share. I’ve always loved these two, from the moment we met, but hearing them speak about each other so candidly was truly incredible to witness and photograph. We took time to photograph just the two of them so they could relish in the moment of being newly married and take it all in, jus the two of them. Afterwards we headed inside to their reception, which was an incredible party filled with the sounds of a super fun live band. The day was a whirlwind but it was filled with all the good things. A day 100% true to Jennifer & Fabio.

Their advice to future couples is to do your best to enjoy the process of planning, over communicate and work together. It's about the both of you, not just one of you, not what your parents want.
